Just so you guys know, this is called a LTdron #Shorts video. It has to be filmed vertical and be less than 1min long. I am going to do a couple of these between my normal long in-depth, super high quality DIY videos. These shorts take a couple of hours to make. My long DIY videos take weeks to make. I hope this can help feed your ChrisFix crave in-between each DIY video and also teach you something new or entertain you a little. Let me know if you like the idea?!

Is it possible to do a portle hub flush? It looked like there was some grit sand stuff in the oil i'd be concered it mixes into new oil negating the point of changing it

Man should have put some Royal purple gear oil in there that stuff is awesome, we used to have drive units go out all the time on electric forklifts until we started using Royal purple and literally would never have a drive unit break with that in it. I don't know if it was because it kept the bearings cooler or better lubricated but the gears would not share or nothing like they would with regular gear oil so whenever you have something that has big intensive gears like that I recommend it.

Them fin are not going to do shit for cooling. Surface area of the fins to the size of the portal hub is negligible thus for no cooling advantage from the fins.

  • ChrisFix

Because silicone makes it waterproof. The metal surfaces that touch each other will still be clean, just surrounded by silicone instead of air/moisture. Trust me, silicone the connection and it won’t ever corrode and you will never have an issue!
